First kid – Baby has lots of friends due to a jam-packed schedule of classes and playgroups.

Second kid – No friends of their own cos they just get dragged about wherever the older one is going.

First kid – An extravagant first birthday party, with handmade bunting, watermelon sculptures, a champagne cascade, real-fire-breathing dragons and surprise celebrity visit from Iggle Piggle and his slutty BFF Upsy Daisy.

Second kid – Um . . . can’t be fucked.

Reading these through, I realise you probably feel a bit like . . . oh dear poor neglected second-born children *sad face*. But the overriding theme isn’t one of neglect, it’s not even really one of a parent who just has less time; a lot of it boils down to a parent who has just learnt how to parent and therefore not stress over all of the minors.
